Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI) is an apex body of Non-Governmental Organisations of rural India with the specific objective of strengthening, coordinating and facilitating their working at the grass root level for integrated development of rural India and to emerge as a think-tank as well as a consultative body at the national and international level. The mission and objectives of CNRI include, inter alia, to serve as a platform to provide critical inputs to public policy on major issues concerning rural economy; to promote development of rural India in the global context in all its dimensions by facilitating capacity building at all levels; to assist and guide the members in obtaining financial and technical assistance for rural development programmes from the Central and State Government(S), Governmental Organisations, Corporate Sector, NRIs and other specialised bilateral, regional, international, and multilateral institutions; to organise and conduct promotional, training programmes to equip NGOs and SHGs towards capacity building, enhancement of their expertise in different directions, particularly in new technology initiatives.
